2012-2013 Scholarship Recipients
Jason Rexroot is a junior from Nicholasville, KY majoring in Computer and Electrical Engineering. He is a member of the Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honors Society, participates yearly in DanceBlue, and is a UK College of Engineering Ambassador.
Carley Schroering is a sophomore from Louisville, KY majoring in biology with a pre-med curriculum. She is a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority, the UK Dressage Team, and volunteers at the Markey Cancer Center.
Stefanie Burgan is a sophomore from Oak Ridge, TN majoring in Landscape Architecture. She is a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority, Snowcats, and the Dean's list. She is highly involved at UK, while working off campus.
Matt Russell is a senior from Evans, GA with a major in psychology. He will continue his studies in the fall as he pursues a PhD in Clinical Psychology. He is a member of the UK Men's Swimming Team, and has achieved SEC Academic Honor Roll and UK Dean's List Honors. He also volunteers for Special Olympics Swimming.
Madalena Pierangelino is a sophomore from Prospect, KY majoring in Marketing and Spanish. She is a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority, the Global Scholars Program, and the Education Abroad at UK Internship Program. Madalena volunteers weekly as a Village Branch Library Tutor.
Alexander Brewer is a senior from Louisville, KY majoring in Human Nutrition. He will continue his studies this fall as he pursues his PharmD. He is a member of the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity, Pre-Pharmacy Club, DanceBlue, and UK Student Government Association. He also volunteers at St. Joseph East.
Elijah Edwards is a junior from Harrodsburg, KY majoring in Secondary English Education and Linguistics. He is president of Sigma Tau Delta and member of UK SGA and UK College of Education Council of Student Leaders. He volunteers for UK Fusion, DanceBlue, God's Pantry and the Ronald McDonald House.
Luke Glaser is a junior from Louisville, KY majoring in English and Hispanic Studies. He is editor at The Kentucky Kernel, Ambassador for the UK Honors College, and Junior Fellow at the Gaines Center.
Scott Ashcraft is a junior from Georgetown, KY majoring in Mechanical Engineering. He is a member of student government, a UK Engineering Ambassador, and member of Phi Delta Theta. Scott's other honors include being a NASA Student Ambassador and being published.
Logan Skelley is a second year medical student from Joplin, MO. Logan completed his undergraduate work at Cornell University. Currently, Logan is a member of the American Medical Association, Kentucky Medical Association (student member) and the Lexington Medical Society. He has done extensive volunteer work and has been published.
